The South-East European Research Centre (SEERC) is a multidisciplinary research institution established in 2004 as a non-profit legal entity in Thessaloniki, Greece. Operating as part of CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, SEERC brings together academic expertise from both CITY College and the University of York to support the stable development of South-East Europe. The Centre conducts applied research across four core areas: Enterprise, Innovation & Development, Information & Communication Technologies, and Society & Human Development. SEERC’s mission is to foster collaboration among researchers throughout the South-East European region, initiate joint research projects, and promote open dialogue on critical regional issues. Leveraging its EU location and regional presence, SEERC acts as a bridge between Western European academic institutions and South-East Europe, while also serving as an information hub that distills complex research into accessible formats for policymakers, academics, civil society, and the public. With a broad disciplinary base, including economics, social sciences, public health, and more, SEERC aspires to be a cross-border institution that enhances regional integration and contributes meaningfully to an inclusive, expanded Europe.

The project team of the University of Luxembourg comes from the Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and New Technology research group (EINT) of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg. SnT brings together researchers from partners and the UL faculties to carry out research and PhD education and aims to achieve high impact and excellence well beyond the academic community by collaborating with external partners such as industries, government bodies, institutions, and international actors.
